Honestly the first time you wire something you really learn what to do the next time. I want to redo my 240z, the PMU unit looks like its easier to work with rather than a cheapo fuse box and relay setup.

Taylor, I've noticed a Milwaukee tool box in your shop. If you can tell me what you paid for it. Because I found this box for very cheap and I wondered did the same. Thanks and God Bless

debating putting power steering on my turbo miata, Either having to source a rack, pump and figure out the belt situation and re route the intercooler piping and hope everything fits i found the kmiata electric ps kit which would save weight and keep the engine bay simple. Since you have installed it, any opinions on which route would be better. if its not super difficult fabrication wise the price isnt too bad for keeping the engine bay simple.
B00sted_mx5 2 months ago
@Taylor Ray I’d mostly use it for autocross and street driving
B00sted_mx5 2 months ago
@Taylor Ray I remember you were on that electric pump in the trunk then the column electric assist thing, did you go back to normal style pumps?
Taylor Ray
Taylor Ray 2 months ago
I hated the column setup. But it would be fine for street driving and maybe even track. It was just horrible for drifting the car wouldn’t self steer. I had it. Could hardly link the track. Then took it out for the competition the next day and made it to the finals. So safe to say it was the problem.

Two words... CANBus... Gets rid of alot of the hard inputs from the ECU...You can use any info from the ecu over canbus to do anything through the PMU... Also use Excel to do the spreadsheet and save it on the PC... Makes life soo much easier... ECUMaster already have the Holley EFI CANBus template in the software

After working with both the ECUmaster and Racepak PDM’s, I think the Racepak is not worth the money. It’s just so old and limited in options and also expensive. Yes it has more ins and outs than the ECUmaster, but 2 ECUmasters are still cheaper than one Racepak and just work a lot better IMO

Taylor, when you cut open the oil filter, you can take the paper media out and fold it up like an accordion. Then you can squeeze all the oil out in a vice and you will be able to see any metal particles in the paper much easier. IIRC I learned that one from project farm...

Just a question, the sheer amount of rear tires you go through, you said you would only have a single backup set of fronts. How often do you have to change the fronts, how long do they last as apposed to the rears. I realize they aren't spinning per`sae like the rears but they do slide? a fair bit no? Or is the backup set of fronts only for collisions as you stated.

Instead of tossing a new CD in, you need to do a T10 or GSR dogbox. I think if youre honest with yourself car is too far gone into the racecar world to warrant a 6speed for "drivability" lol. Anyways, love the content as always.

You should build a library ladder for the loft. Then you don't have to keep getting the ladder out, and you could slide it out of the way, if it's not needed

Not that you will see this. But I used to install an after market oil change system on Caterpillar Equipment. To prevent the oil draining after pulling the pan plug. We used a shop vac. It might work for you. Put suction on the tank to get the plug out an put a drain hose on. Then turn off the vac to allow the oil to flow
