You might know but be careful with sanding steel and aluminium on the same belt. Sometimes the steel dust on the belt can embed itself in the aluminium and then cause rust spots

you should take a look at the brushes in your band saw, it is looking a bit sparky, that can ruin the commutator.

Honestly 42F or 5.55C is pretty cold to be working in without proper gear especially if you’re out of the sun and basically standing still. This is coming from a Canadian who’s city is sitting at just about -31F (-35C) with the wind chill.

Radiator looks great. My only concern is with it solid mounted like this it’s now a structural part of the chassis and our Nissan chassis flex quite a lot forward of the firewall. Hopefully you don’t have any cracking issues! Glad to see the progress.

"this thing is so beefy" No man, this thing is sooo overkill. you could pick that car up by those m8 bolts alone, attach it to a crane and swing it around, with no fear of those bolts breaking. we literally pick up whole fully dressed RB25 out of the cars using 3 M6 bolts that originally hold the coil bracket to the head.
Danny iPwn
Danny iPwn 2 months ago
Man the V-mount is awful. the only cars it makes sense on are like FB RX7's where they dont have open vents up front. cooling is a limited factor in them. but with this car it just doesnt make any sense. i truly cant wait for this project to be over, this is my least favorite by a long shot. should of put more into the FC to make it Track prepped. Or done more of an "OEM-+" feel with the K20 cefiro.

You can do your lawn mower blades on the grinder too
TR Johnson
TR Johnson 2 months ago
30 minutes, basically 2-3 ads, and only 1 thing accomplished. However the one thing you accomplished was not right. You shouldn’t have metal on metal brackets for a radiator support system. Their should always be rubber between the bracket and radiator. Without any, it’ll eventually rub through the radiator from driving, road vibration, etc. love the channel, but I don’t like videos like this.

A general rule of thumb I was taught while using a press brake is to have the opening of the lower die at least 5x the thickness of the material you wish to form. You can also knock the edge off to prevent the gouging. One more thought. Buy yourself some circle templates for bracket radii, they’ll turn out much cleaner 👍

maybe angle the radiator the other way? that way the fans will blow straight out of the vent in the hood you got. and more space in front of the motor as well
Kyle Tice
Kyle Tice 2 months ago
Would maybe use some rubber isolator bushings in that rad mount. Vibration alone will fatigue that aluminum over time i would think if it isn’t ripped by chassis flex.
