That bucking problem is an issue in your tuning. Get ahold of Adam LZ and talk with him about it. His tuner is pretty good at fixing those problems

There is not too much load except weight, you should have stiffened the existing ones a bit.

Please invest in a drill press of some sort and a decent vise for it. You wont ever go back to drilling things by hand for fabrication.

Miata sounds so savage, absolutely love it. 👍 Maybe log your tps, if its a standalone ecu, could be that Acceleration Enrichment TPSdot value is set too low, so triggering AE at light throttle maybe!

I picked up an 04 Ls 6 speed complete not running. No body damage. Not running . No spark.Got it running for 40 bucks. Crankshaft sensor and pie plate (CRANK POS. INDICATOR). I love your style of repairing things. Constantly upgrading and improving. This is what I have in mind for my ride. u give me ideas all the time.My car is due for suspension upgrade . Bought OHLINS ROAD AND TRACK PKG. Brakes old... worn. Got best bbk package I could find 11.75 " rotors. Wildwood calipers front and back. Went as big as I could , want it to stop with the v8 hp. What are u using to mount the motor. Did u make the front subframe or buy it? V8 roadster makes a piece I think would fit and work. I was thinking of making one. Would u make one of those or is it too important to think I could fabricate this. U do Amazing things. I am impressed every time I watch u. Tai u da best

Definitely worth changing the cord on your old grinder and keeping it too, love having multiple with different discs so you don't have to change them out!

Try that other truck throttle body first , it might be starving for air a tiny bit at idle or low acceleration, would be easier than changing back to drive by cable for now

I know nothing about fab and welding but is it possible to weld the nut on the top so you don’t have to use a wrench? Then it would be like you are putting the bolt in a threaded hole essentially

You need to buy/build oval pipes for that diff transition - you can get the cross-section of that big pipe but more easily fit it on those narrow spaces. You might also want to consider buying/building oval pipe for most of it past the trans, for more ground clearance.

Man it gives me anxiety watching you use the band saw with gloves on, especially with how close you got your fingertips cutting that thin piece. Those gloves aren’t going to save your fingers and may get your hand pulled into the saw. I’m generally a pretty safety third kinda guy... but it would be a literal tragedy if you lost your hand or finger, man.

For the bucking, use the off-road technique of planting the side your foot against the trans tunnel, and roll your foot onto the throttle. Planting it there removes the weight of your leg moving with accel/decel causing bucking.

The Trans Mount was weaker after the guys did the titanium exhaust. The mod they did it was to get it out and the strength of modifing was not considered in the least bit. As much as you paid for Fab work they should have done you right and constructed consulted what the remedy should be done.

Hey Taylor, is there a reason why you didn’t decide to weld the shims that go on the top of the trans mount while you had it all down? Did you use aluminum instead of steel?

Yeah they’re aluminum. And I don’t want to make it permanent. I may re do the mount at some point.

For the bucking (cam surge) try pulling a little timing out where its doing it. Thats some of the drivability issues that come up with large cams. Thats why you usually dont want the biggest beefiest cam on the market for a daily driver, they only like the top of the power band. But, pulling some timing should do wonders. Also, I sent Ben some info a few months ago on how to adjust your injector end angle and a kid, from the Holley groups, that will do it for you for free in your tune. That was by far the biggest improvement I ever made to the drivability of my set up with the Holley.

Some of that bucking is likely the camshaft. May never be able to solve it completely. When it’s doing that put the clutch in and rev it up. It’s probably getting loaded up with fuel.
